Stony Brook, NY -- -
Stony Brook University right-handed pitcher Anthony Stutz has been chosen as the America East Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday. It marks the second time this season Stutz has been honored with the award.
Stutz (Buffalo, NY/North Tonawanda) pitched a complete game, two-hit shutout against Northeastern on Sunday, leading the Seawolves to a 2-0 victory. It marked the second straight shutout and fourth straight victory for the senior, who has posted a 5-2 mark and a 4.94 ERA.
Stutz has posted an ERA of 0.30 during his last four games, allowing just three runs in 30 innings of work in pitching four complete games. He has walked just seven during that time and has struck out 24, running his record to 5-2 following a 1-2 start.
