Box Score

VESTAL, N.Y. - Senior guard Anthony Green scored a game-high 20 points and Binghamton (7-6, 2-1 America East) hit seven free throws in the final 2:37 to hold off visiting Stony Brook (5-8, 0-3 AE), 64-59 Saturday afternoon.

Green scored 15 points in the first half, as BU built a nine-point margin. Late in the second half, BU extended that margin to 13 before the Seawolves mounted a rally. Trailing 53-40 with 6:57 remaining, Stony Brook went on a 13-4 run that cut the deficit to four. After the teams traded points on four straight possessions, junior forward Jairus McCollum hit a jumper that pulled the Seawolves to within three, 62-59, with 23 seconds remaining. Sophomore forward Billy Williams made a pair of free throws with 16 seconds left for the final margin.

"It was a good basketball game," BU head coach Al Walker said. "We hung tough - it was good to get a win when they forced us to make plays down the stretch. Anthony and Billy did a great job at the free throw line."

Senior forward Jeffrey St. Fort scored 11 of his 13 points in the pivotal second half. Senior guard Charles Baker scored 11 points, and seven-foot sophomore center Nick Billings added seven rebounds and six blocks.

Stony Brook was led by junior guard D.J. Munir, who netted 17 points.
