Baseball Remains Undefeated In Conference Play

The Stony Brook baseball team moved to 8-0 in the America East conference and 17-8 overall after sweeping the Binghamton Bearcats thanks to 8-1 and 18-10 wins Monday afternoon at University Field. Stony Brook took two from the Bearcats Sunday and completed the sweep of the season series and remains undefeated in the conference. in addition to extending its winning streak to ten.

Cole Cicatelli slammed a three-run homerun in the top of the seventh to lead the Seawolves to the win in game one. Cicatelli's hot bat was backed up by Rich Graham who finished 2-for-4 at the plate and Andrew Larsen who scored twice to help pace the Seawolves.

The eight runs were more than enough for the combination of pitchers Will Brumfield and Matt Restivo. Restivo was credited with the win after pitching 5.2 innings, scattering six hits and not allowing an earned run. He is now 4-0 on the season.

Larsen helped cap a seven-run second inning for The Brook with his grand slam homerun in as they rolled to a 18-10 win in game two. He tallied five RBI in the Seawolves 17th win of the season. Jim McCurdy continues his hot play, finishing with a 3-for-4 day in the win to go with his two RBI. Matt Devins enjoyed a big day at the plate as he scored three times and went 2-of-4, tallying four RBI.

The Seawolves are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Marist to take on the Red Foxes at 3:30 p.m.
