Freshman David Wood has been named the Rookie of the Week by the America East Conference for his play throughout the week of April 21-27. Wood helped lead the Seawolves to three wins last week by posting outstanding performances at the plate and on the mound. Wood finished the week 4-of-6 at the dish, knocked two homeruns and brought home four runs. His solo-shot in the bottom of the eight scored the game-winning RBI in the N.Y. Tech tilt. Sunday he went the distance for the Seawolves against the Pace Setters. He pitched seven innings of shutout baseball, allowing just four hits and striking out seven. He know leads the Seawolves with five wins in 2003.
The Seawolves are currently 22-11 overall and tied for first in the America East with Maine at 9-3. The Brook has a busy week of baseball with games against N.Y. Tech, St. Francis, Seton Hall and a four-game series with Northeatern this weekend.
