Stony Brook, N.Y. -
Sophomore Stephanie DiBiase received Co-Player of the Week honors from the America East Conference on Monday.
DiBiase had a phenomenal week, leading Stony Brook to sweeps over Hartford and Binghamton as the Seawolves went 6-2. She played a key role as the Seawolves captured the first two games of a four-game series against Binghamton to clinch a berth in the America East Tournament. In the first game she was a perfect 4-for-4 and started an eighth-inning rally with a double. In game two, the Seawolves trailed 4-1 before DiBiase opened the seventh with a homerun, and the Seawolves would end up winning 5-4. She ended the day 6-for-8 at the plate. On the second day she was just as outstanding, giving Stony Brook a 1-0 lead with a homer in the first. She struck again in the fifth with a three-run dinger that made the score 5-1.
DiBiase leads the conference with a .407 batting average and a school record 80 hits. She also has 10 homeruns on the season, second in the league next to teammate Kristen Brust's 13.
