Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior defensive back Chad King has been dismissed from the football team for violation of team rules, head coach Sam Kornhauser announced. King, who returned to the lineup this season after medical hardship in 2003, led the team with three interceptions.

"We expect that our players will act responsibly and be accountable for their actions," explained Kornhauser. "Any player, regardless of his stature, must follow team rules to be part of the Stony Brook football program."

Stony Brook hosts Albany on Saturday.
