West Point, N.Y. - The Stony Brook baseball team snapped Army's 15-game winning streak with 5-3 win over the Black Knights on Tuesday afternoon at Doubleday Field. With the win, the Seawolves improve to 20-25 this season and drop West Point to 35-11.

The Seawolves loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the first and came away with two runs as Nick Theoharis drove in a pair with a single to right field. Army loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning with no outs as well, but SB starter Mike Errigo worked out of the jam, inducing an inning ending double play after surrendering just one run to keep the Seawolves on top, 2-1, after an inning of play.

The Brook added to its lead with RBI singles by Stephen Didsbury and Andrew Larsen in the third and fourth innings, respectively, to hold a 4-1 advantage. Army pulled within two runs, 4-2, in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Cole White, but the Seawolves added an insuance run in the eighth on a squeeze bunt by Chris DiBiaso that scored Tom Pennino to put the Seawolves ahead 5-2.

Army threatened in ninth, scoring a run off reliever Nick Abel, but he eventually converted his third save of the season as the Seawolves held on for the 5-3 victory.

Matt Restivo (4-3) earned the win, throwing three innings of relief and allowing just one run on two hits while striking out three. Theoharis went 2-for-5 with two RBI to lead a Seawolves attack that saw five players tally two hits apiece.

Stony Brook is back in action this weekend at Vermont in a crucial three-game America East series. First pitch of Saturday's doubleheader with the Catamounts is slated for 12 p.m.
