Angela Andrews picks up Stony Brook Athlete of the Week honors after an outstanding week on the mound for the softball team. Andrews went 2-1 with a 1.08 ERA over 26.0 innings, allowing just four earned runs while striking out 13 and walking three.
Andrews closed out the regular season with a win over Maine, allowing three runs, two earned, on eight hits while striking out four.
In the America East tournament, Andrews tossed 13 shutout innings to lead Stony Brook to a 3-0 win over No. 3 Maine. She allowed five hits and two walks while striking out seven. In the championship game vs. top-seeded Albany, she allowed four runs, two earned on eight hits.
For the tournament, Andrews posted a 0.74 ERA with nine strikeouts and two walks over 19.0 innings. She was named to the all-tournament team for her efforts.
