Stony Brook Volleyball Swept By Manhattan

Providence, R.I. - The Stony Brook volleyball team was swept 3-0 (30-26, 30-22, 30-16) in the opening match of the Brown Invitational. With the loss the Seawolves fall to 6-6 on the year and the Jaspers improve to 4-8. Morgan Sweany led the way for SBU as she totaled a match-high 15 kills.

As a team the Seawolves only hit .087 and committed 25 errors. Sweany, with 14 kills and eight digs, extended her streak of double-digit kills to 13 games. Claire Lindner and Gulce Nazli Dikecligil each tallied 11 assists in the loss.

The Jaspers utilized 14 kills from Maggie Pfeifer and Megan O'Dorisio in the win. O'Dorisio added a match-high 12 digs for the double-double.

Stony Brook will continue play tomorrow at the Brown Invitational, when they take on Santa Clara at 10:00 a.m. and Brown at 6:00 p.m.
