Sept. 1, 2006

Box Score

Williamsburg, VA - Four Seawolves ended the match with double digit kills but it wasn't enough as the Stony Brook volleyball team fell in five to William and Mary, 2-3 (23-30, 30-28, 17-30, 30-19, 11-15). The loss drops the Seawolves to 3-1 on the season.

After falling to a 2-1 game deficit the Seawolves seemingly gained control as they dominated the fourth game, winning easily 30-19. But the Tribe would rebound to claim the fifth and deciding game, 15-11, and snap the Seawolves three-game winning streak.

Morgan Sweany led all players as the junior rattled off 25 kills, hitting at a .423 clip, and totaled 21 digs in the loss. Gulce Nazli Dikecligil added a double-double with 18 kills and 13 digs and Amy Oleksiej and Sarah Bauer each contributed 12 kills. Claire Lindner anchored the Seawolf defense with a team-high 23 digs.

The Seawolves return to action on Saturday, September 2 on the second day of the William and Mary Classic.
