Stony Brook, N.Y. - Ashley Westphal and Marissa Fleury each hit a home run and freshman Alyssa Struzenberg went six and one third of an inning as Stony Brook beat Quinnipiac, 4-2, in game three of day 1 of the Stony Brook Invitational. Stony Brook is 8-7 on the season.

Stony Brook struck quickly in the bottom of the first when Westphal homered to center field. Following Kelsi Fanelli's single to left, Fleury homered to left field for a 3-0 Seawolves' lead. Stony Brook added a run in the second when Vicki Kavitsky doubled home Sarah Hoffman who reached on a fielder's choice.

Struzenberg was marvelous for Stony Brook, no-hitting Quinnipiac for 5.2 innings before Jill Viglione blooped a single just over the shortstop Kavitsky.

Quinnipiac struck for two runs in the top of the seventh off Struzenberg before Christina Voth got the final two outs for the save.

In Game 1 of the day against Fairfield, the Stags scored four runs in the bottom of the second and held on for a 5-3 victory. Fleury hit a home run and two of Stony Brook's three RBI.

Day 2 of the Stony Brook Invitational continues tomorrow. Stony Brook faces LIU in the final game of the Invitational at 2:30 pm.
