The Retrievers got two runs back in the third on a Shawn Retz two-run double but Rebecca answered with a one-out solo home run in the fourth to give the Seawolves a 7-2 lead. SBU added two more runs in the seventh highlighted by an RBI single from Thode.
UMBC cut the Stony Brook lead to 9-4 in the eighth on a two-run home run from Dustin Ferguson but Tansey and Dyer hit solo home runs in the ninth to secure the victory for the Seawolves. Dyer and Mazzurco each recorded three hits in the second game for the Seawolves, who pounded out 15 hits.
