Stony Brook, N.Y. - Sophomore right hander Tyler Johnson (Chatsworth, Calif.), of the Stony Brook University baseball team, was named the Stony Brook Athlete of the Week on Monday after leading the Seawolves to a 7-4 win over Pepperdine on Friday.

Johnson (2-2) allowed just five hits in 8.1 innings of work to earn the victory in Stony Brook's win over the Waves. He allowed no runs and three hits over the first 8.0 innings before allowing a grand slam with one out in the ninth. He stuck out five and walked three in his 8.1 innings of work.

Johnson ranks sixth in the America East in innings pitched (28.2) and third in the conference in opponent batting average (.210).
