Cambridge, Mass. - Freshman William Carmona (Hempstead, N.Y.) of the Stony Brook University baseball team was named America East Rookie of the Week on Monday after hitting .474 with 10 RBI in five games last week. It is the second straight week and third time this season that a Seawolves player has earned the honor.

Carmona went 3-for-4 with four RBI including a three-run home run in the Seawolves' 10-2 win over the Albany in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday. This came after the right-hander picked up the save in Stony Brook's 3-2 win over the Great Danes in the first game on Saturday. He has allowed just one earned run in 16.2 innings of relief this season.

The Seawolves return to action on Wednesday, hosting Fairfield at University Field. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
