Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook University baseball team spent Friday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field showcasing its talents for over 25 Major League Baseball scouts at the Seawolves annual pro scout day.
The afternoon gave professional scouts the opportunity to observe SBU's draft-eligible players as they ran the 60-yard dash, took batting practice and infield and played an inter-squad scrimmage.
The Seawolves have had 34 players sign professional contracts under head coach Matt Senk with the latest being two-time All-American Nick Tropeano, who was drafted in the fifth round by the Houston Astros in the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player draft.
