Stony Brook, N.Y. - Junior Nick Tropeano (West Islip, N.Y.), of the baseball team, has been named the SimplexGrinnell Stony Brook Athlete of the Week after leading the Seawolves to a 3-1 win over Michigan on Saturday.

Tropeano (2-1) was dominant against the Wolverines, hurling 8.0 shutout innings. The America East Pitcher of the Week and the InsidePitching.com Northeast Performer of the Week, Tropeano gave up just three hits and a walk while striking out 10.

The preseason all-american allowed just one runner to advance past second base and has allowed just one extra-base hit in 19.2 innings this season.
