Stony Brook University's baseball team opens its home schedule on Wednesday, taking on Fairleigh Dickinson. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. The game will played at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, N.Y. as renovations to Joe Nathan Field continue.

The Seawolves rallied from an early five-run deficit but the No. 17 North Carolina Tar Heels used a six-run seventh to defeat the Seawolves, 11-6, in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday at Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels won the first game of the doubleheader, 18-4.
Sophomore William Carmona (Hempstead, N.Y.) went 2-for-5 with three RBI in the second game while sophomore Maxx Tiseenbaum (Toronto, Ontario) added three hits. Freshman Brandon McNitt (Chino Hills, Calif.) allowed just two runs in 6.1 innings of relief.
Scouting Fairleigh Dickinson
FDU (3-2) enters Wednesday's game off a 9-0 win over Saint Peter's. Senior Nick Melchiorre picked up his second win, allowing just five hits in 6.0 shutout innings.
Senior first baseman D.J. Robinson is hitting a team-high .409 (9-for-22) and has driven in seven runs through the first five games. A second team All-NEC selection last season, he has also scored seven runs for an FDU squad that is averaging over eight runs per game.
First year head coach Gary Puccio returns every position starter from last year's squad that went 16-38. The Knights were picked to finish last in the nine-team Northeast Conference in the preseason coaches poll.
