Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook softball team and head coach Megan Bryant announced the 2011 fall ball schedule on Friday. The slate includes four tournaments and the annual softball alumni game, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24. at 10 a.m.
The Seawolves will open the fall season at home on Sept. 18 in a tournament featuring local opponents Adelphi and C.W. Post. Stony Brook will face C.W. Post at 12 p.m. and wrap up the day against Adelphi at 2 p.m.
The following weekend, Stony Brook will honor its past players with a single alumni game at 10 a.m.
On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Seawolves will cross the Long Island Sound to take on a pair of Connecticut foes at the Fairfield Tournament in Fairfield, Conn. Stony Brook will play Yale at 12:30 p.m. and Fairfield at 2:30 p.m.
The next day, Stony Brook returns home for their second home tournament of the season. After a matchup against Sacred Heart at 10:30 a.m., the Seawolves will again take the field against C.W. Post for a 2:30 p.m. affair.
The Seawolves then wrap up the fall season on Oct. 9 with a third home tournament against C.W. Post at 10 a.m. and Fairleigh Dickinson at 2 p.m.
Stony Brook finished the 2011 season with a 20-29 record, the 11th straight season in which the program has won at least 20 games.
