Jankowski named America East Player of the Week

March 19, 2012

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Junior outfielder Travis Jankowski (Lancaster, Pa.), of the Stony Brook University baseball team, has been named America East Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. It is the third straight week a Stony Brook player has earned the honor.

Jankowski hit .600 (9-for-15) last week while posting an on-base percentage of .714 as the Seawolves won four of five games. He reached base in all seven plate appearances in Stony Brook's doubleheader sweep of Yale on Sunday including a two-run home run in the opener.

Jankowski's .354 batting average is fourth in the America East and leads the conference with 17 runs scored and seven doubles.

Winners of five of their last six games, the Seawolves return to action on Tuesday at Fordham. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
