Junior second basemen Maxx Tissenbaum (Toronto, Ontario) and sophomore right-hander Brandon McNitt (Chino Hills, Calif.), of the Stony Brook baseball team, each earned weekly America East honors on Monday, the conference office announced. Tissenbaum was named Player of the Week and McNitt Pitcher of the Week.
Tissenbaum had two hits each of the Seawolves three games at East Carolina over the weekend, hitting .545 the series. Tissenbaum is hitting an America East best .480 this season.
McNitt allowed just one earned run in a complete game effort against East Carolina on Saturday. The right-hander gave up just four hits and struck out four.
The Seawolves return to action on Wednesday, traveling to take on Fairleigh Dickinson before heading to Minnesota for the Dairy Queen Classic this weekend.
