Baseball closes regular season at Maine

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Having already clinched its second straight America East regular season title, the Stony Brook baseball team closes its regular season with a four-game series at Maine. The teams will play a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m.

Junior Travis Jankowski (Lancaster, Pa.) drove in the game-tying run with one out in the eighth before coming around to score the go-ahead run as the Stony Brook baseball team celebrated Senior Day with a 7-6 come-from-behind win over UMBC on Sunday at Joe Nathan Field.

Seawolves News & Notes
As a result of winning the regular season title, the Seawolves will be the No. 1 seed and host the four-team double-elimination America East tournament May 23-26 at Joe Nathan Field ... Maine, Albany and Binghamton have already clinched spots in the field but will be playing for seeding this week ... Stony Brook (39-11, 17-3 AE) is one win way from becoming just the third team in America East history to win 40 games in back-to-back season ... SBU is also just three wins away from tying last year's team for school record for wins in a season (42) ... Stony Brook is the only team in Division I baseball that ranks in the the top 10 nationally in batting average, fielding percentage and ERA.

Scouting Maine
The Black Bears (26-22, 11-7 AE) are in third place in the America East standings after taking two of three from Hartford last weekend. Maine is coming off a 9-4 win over Boston College on Wednesday. The Black Bears are second in the America East in hitting (.291) and third in ERA (5.28).
