Final Stats
Stony Brook, N.Y. - Junior Dave Coley (Brooklyn, N.Y.) matched his career high with 21 points, and the Stony Brook men's basketball team's suffocating defense held Boston University without a field goal for a 12:45 stretch as the Seawolves routed the Terriers 75-48 Tuesday night at sold-out Pritchard Gymnasium.
Coley was 8-for-12 fro the field and 3-for-4 from three-point range. Senior Tommy Brenton (Columbia, Md.) had his second consecutive double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and freshman Jameel Warney (Plainfield, N.J.) added his own double-double with 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
The Seawolves are now 13-4 overall and 4-0 in America East as they continue their best start in their Div. I history. They occupy sole possession of first place in America East.

Turning Point
With the Seawolves leading 28-25, they turned up the defense on the Terriers while going on a 24-5 run that extended into the second half. Stony Brook forced BU into contested shots and kept the Terriers to one shot by outrebounding them. BU went 12:45 without a field goal from the 4:02 mark of the first half to the 11:17 mark of the second half.
Brenton set the tone of the run by connecting on a layup and drawing a foul at 3:31 of the first half. He completed the three-point play with a free throw and scored seven points at the end of half to send the Seawolves into the break with a 39-25 lead.
The Seawolves put the game away with a 13-2 run to open the second half, thanks in large part to freshman Carson Puriefoy (Wenonah, N.J.), who had five points and an assist during the stretch.
By the Numbers
- Stony Brook shot a scorching 59.3% in the first half and finished the game at 52.7%. The Seawolves held the Terriers to 29.8% shooting. It's the sixth consecutive game Stony Brook has held its opponent under 40%.
- Warney recorded his second career double-double; his 14 rebounds were a career high.
- Coley now has scored 21 points in his career four times. It's the second time this season; he also had 21 at Seton Hall. His 75% shooting is the second highest of his career.
- Brenton notched his 45th career double-digit rebounding game and his 20th career double-double. He is 20 rebounds away from becoming the eighth player in America East history to reach 1,000 career rebounds.
- The Seawolves outrebounded BU 40-30, the 34th time in their last 41 games they've grabbed more rebounds than their opponent.
- Puriefoy added nine points and set a new career high with four assists.
- Stony Brook turned 15 BU turnovers into 18 points.
- The Seawolves outscored the Terriers in the paint, 30-10.

- Stony Brook is off to its best 17-game start in its Div. I history at 13-4 and is off to its second consecutive 4-0 start in America East play, which is also a program best.
