Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team will close the home portion of its regular season schedule on Thursday when it welcomes New Hampshire for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Prior to the match, the Seawolves will honor their seven seniors: Ashley Castanio, Ahriel Fernandez, Larissa Nysch, Queli Ornelas, Julianne Palm, Caitlin Pfeiffer and Danielle Singson.

Last Time Out

The Seawolves (9-5-1, 4-2-0 America East) posted an impressive 2-0 win at Binghamton on Sunday. Sophomore Stella Norman (Lakewood, Colo.) scored the opening goal in the 31st minute with a screamer off a free kick from 30 yards out. Norman then turned provider in the second half, lofting a corner kick in front of the net for senior Larissa Nysch (Dresher, Pa.) to head home. Senior Ashley Castanio (Oceanside, N.Y.) pitched the shutout with five saves to collect her ninth career clean-sheet.

Scouting New Hampshire

The last team to lose in conference play, New Hampshire (4-6-6, 2-1-3 America East) enters Thursday's meeting one spot behind Stony Brook in the standings. The Wildcats have struggled offensively this season, recording just 10 goals in 16 games; however, the team has made up for its offensive shortcomings by performing well defensively with just 16 goals conceded in 2013. Freshman Kirsten O'Neil paces the squad with three goals and four assists, while fellow freshman Mimi Borkan owns a 0.62 GAA in 13 games.

Exclusive Company

With a goal on Sunday, Nysch reached the 50-point plateau for her career. Nysch is one of just six players in Stony Brook women's soccer history to record 50 points. In her career, Nysch has 20 goals and 10 assists in 67 games.

Senior Night

The Seawolves will pay homage to their seven seniors prior to Thursday's match. The group of Castanio, Fernandez, Nysch, Ornelas, Palm, Pfeiffer and Singson have combined to appear in 326 total games for Stony Brook.

Playoff Picture

Entering Thursday's action, four of the six America East playoff spots have been filled. Hartford, Maine, UMBC and Stony Brook have clinched postseason berths, while New Hampshire, Binghamton, Vermont and UMass Lowell are still alive for the remaining two places. Stony Brook can still finish as high as No. 1 and as low as No. 6 entering the final weekend of conference play.
