Baseball faces locals Iona and Manhattan this week

Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook baseball team plays a pair of non-conference games against local opponents this week as it heads to New Rochelle to face Iona Tuesday at 4 p.m., before hosting Manhattan at Joe Nathan Field Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

The Seawolves are facing the Gaels for the second time this season, having beaten them at home on March 5, 5-1. Iona is just 4-26 this season, 1-8 in the MAAC. Stony Brook has won four consecutive meetings vs. Iona.

The Jaspers are 13-15 overall and 5-4 in the MAAC and have won three of their last four games. This is the first meeting between these two teams in just over a decade. The last matchup was on March 26, 2003, won by the Seawolves, 9-1.
