Oct. 2, 2014

Stony Brook, N.Y. - Senior Christine Lucido (Melville, N.Y.), junior Allison Cukrov (Irvine, Calif.) and freshman Lexi Shue (Lakewood, Calif.) were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-America Scholar-Athletes for the 2013-14 academic year. The list recognizes all Division I softball players maintaining a 3.5 grade-point average or above.

Cukrov has established herself as one of the top pitchers in Stony Brook history. Entering her senior season, the two-time America East Pitcher of the Year is the Seawolves career leader in shutouts (27) and saves (12), second in wins (63) and appearances (126), third in strikeouts (566) and innings pitched (643.1), and fourth in complete games (69). Lucido made two relief appearances for the #Seawolves, while Shue saw action in 23 games as a reserve infielder.

Stony Brook went 34-18 in 2014 en route to an America East regular season title. They advanced to the America East Championship game for the second consecutive season before falling to Albany.
