Head Coach Steve Pikiell's reaction
"What a great basketball game. They made a great play down the stretch. Tough game, but also an exciting game. I really liked our effort in the second half. We didn't turn the ball over. It just seemed like we couldn't get that one basket when we needed it most."

Turning Point
Stony Brook, which led for 59 seconds in the first half, scored on its first two possessions in overtime. Puriefoy's two free throws with 1:30 left gave Stony Brook a 59-58 lead.

The Seawolves got a stop on defense, but Puriefoy's jumper rimmed out, setting up Williams' basket.

Kevin Bleekers' three-point play gave Canisius its biggest lead of the game, 39-31, with 13:13 to play in regulation. Nyama's three-point play capped a 12-4 spurt to tie the game at 43 with 6:11 left. Junior Rayshaun McGrew's (Chicago, Ill.) jump hook in the lane gave Stony Brook its first lead since 5-4 with 17:11 left in the first half.
