Quotes . . .
Steve Pikiell
"All the credit goes to Vermont. It's a tough place to play, and we didn't deserve to win today's game. We didn't play as well as we're capable of and some of that goes to the way Vermont played today. Not too many teams come up here and win. I think we're a better basketball team than we showed today; they just played better than us today."
Turning Point
Trae Bell-Haynes hit a three to put Vermont ahead 56-42 with 9:40 to play in the second half. Stony Brook cut the deficit to nine after sophomore Chris Braley's (Newport, Maine) three-pointer with 7:01 left. Warney's layup with just over four minutes to go made it 62-57. Braley's attempt to make it a one-possession game went in-and-out with 3:15 remaining. The Seawolves did not score after that, and the Catamounts made seven of their next eight free throws.
