Stony Brook, N.Y. - Redshirt junior Raven Edwards (West Orange, N.J.) collected her first career America East Player of the Week honor after scoring three goals in Stony Brook’s two wins last week.
Edwards scored game-winning goals in Stony Brook’s 2-0 win over Albany and 3-2 win over first-place New Hampshire. She opened the scoring against the Great Danes, hammering a shot over the keeper seven minutes into the match. On Sunday, her penalty kick with three minutes to play in regulation broke a 2-2 tie with the Wildcats. It was her second goal of the match and her third career two-goal game.
Edwards has scored seven goals in her last seven matches to move in the school’s top 10 in career goals with 17. Her career-high eight goals this season rank second in the conference.
