Boston - Redshirt junior Raven Edwards (West Orange, N.J.) of the Stony Brook women's soccer team was named to the America East All-Conference First Team, the conference announced on Wednesday, making her the first Seawolf to garner the honor since Larissa Nysch, Ashley Castanio and Stella Norman made the team in 2013.
Fellow classmate Priscilla Wiggins (Fresno, Calif.) landed on the second team, the first all-conference accolade of her career, while freshman Kaitln Loughren (Huntington, N.Y.) was placed on the All-Rookie team.
Edwards set a career-high and ranked second in the conference with nine goals. She was named the America East Player of the Week after scoring two goals, including the game-winner vs. New Hampshire on Oct. 11. She also scored a brace vs. Fairfield on Sep. 23, finishing the season with a team-leading two game-winning goals. Edwards led the Seawolves with 52 shots and 26 shots on goal.
Wiggins started all 18 matches at center back, guiding the young Seawolves' back line to three shutouts and a 1.18 goals against average. She scored the only goal of the game, and her lone tally of the season, in a win over Marist on Sept. 7. A year removed from missing the entire 2014 season due to injury, Wiggins proved reliable and durable in 2015, leading the team in minutes played.
Loughren played in every match, starting 15 at left back in her first season in the red and white. She led all Stony Brook freshmen in minutes played, tallying her first and only collegiate point with an assist in a win over Albany on Oct. 8.
The Seawolves finished the season 6-9-3 and 3-4-1 in America East action, missing out on the playoffs by a point.
