Stony Brook, N.Y. - The Stony Brook women’s soccer team (3-7-2, 0-2-0 AE) returns home in search of three points on Thursday, Oct. 8, when it hosts the Albany Great Danes (6-6-1, 1-1-1 AE) at 7 p.m.
Scouting Albany
The Great Danes picked up their first conference loss on Sunday, falling to New Hampshire 1-0 to drop to .500 in conference play. Reigning America East Rookie of the Year Vivian Vega has had another strong season, ranking second in the conference with six goals. Alexa Schneider leads the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists, while Kiana Rugar has added four goals and three assists. As a team, Albany ranks second in the conference in scoring offense, averaging 1.62 goals per game. The Seawolves are 13-5 vs. the Great Danes in series history, but Albany won last year’s match, 2-1.
Home Cooking
The Seawolves have been difficult to beat on their home turf this season. They are unbeaten in their last five home games, going 3-0-2 and outscoring their opponents 9-4.
