Quotes . . .
Steve Pikiell
"We played through some foul trouble. We're on a seven-game winning streak so obviously we're figuring out how to win. Binghamton is a really good team despite their record, and our guys certainly knew that. Sometimes your first tournament game is the hardest to play."
Carson Puriefoy
"You have to be able to rely on your defense in the playoffs and we're a good defensive team. Sometimes the offense doesn't give us what we want so we buckled down on defense and got some baskets that way. There really hasn't been a situation we haven't been in this year."
Jameel Warney
"We just have to keep being aggressive. If we stick together, we'll be fine. We've played from behind a lot this year. Scott [King] gave us a big lift off the bench tonight.
Key Moment
Warney's layup with 17:14 left in the second half ignited a 14-0 run, turning a 30-27 deficit into a 41-30 lead with 10:56 left.
Binghamton cut the lead to 42-37, but a three, a steal and layup from Puriefoy upped the lead back to 10.
Stony Brook led 58-55 with under 30 seconds left to play in regulation. Justin McFadden's three went in and out and Warney corralled the rebound. Warney and Puriefoy hit a pair of free throws to seal the victory for the Seawolves.
