New Haven, Conn.  A selected few traveled this weekend to the ITA Regionals. Junior Elizabeth Tsvetkov and Sophomores Devanshi Bhimjiyani and Ester Chikvashvili competed in singles.  Tsvetkov and Chikvashvili also competed in doubles. 
 
"This weekend our women faced the best competition in the region. We didn't however achieve the results we were looking for. Ester was able to win her first round match but both her and Elizabeth fell in the second round. This tournament was a good indicator of the strong competition we will face this spring as our schedule includes many of the teams we saw this weekend," said Assistant Coach DJ Wilson. 

Highlights:

• Elizabeth Tsvetkov (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was ranked 37^th overall in the singles.
• In the second round Tsvetkov battled hard but just came up short losing to Brittany Collins of UMass 4-6, 6-4, 4-6.
• Devanishi Bhimjitani (Rajkot, India) drew Irina Kostirko of BU 6-3, 6-1.
• Easter Chikvashvili (Melville, N.Y.) beat Lea Winkler of Drexel 6-4, 6-4 in her first match, before falling to Raquel Lyn of Dartmouth 6-2, 6-2. 
• Tsvekov and Chilkvashvili were upset by Alderman and Pletnyeva of UCONN 8-5.
