THE OPPONENT
Boston College is coming off its first win of the season after topping Maryland Eastern Shore at home Tuesday night, 73-57. It fell to Nicholls State in its first game of the season, 79-73. Jerome Robinson leads the Eagles in scoring after scoring 16 points in the victory. Boston College is coming off of a 7-25 season in 2015-16. The Eagles lost their leading scorer Eli Carter (16.0 ppg) and rebounder Dennis Clifford (7.3 rpg) from a season ago.
THE SERIES
The Seawolves have never topped Boston College in four meetings. All four previous meetings were played in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Stony Brook is 0-7 against teams currently in the Atlantic Coast Conference and last faced an ACC opponent when it traveled to Notre Dame last season. The two teams most recently met on Dec. 11, 2011. Stony Brook fell to the Eagles 66-57.

Stony Brook fell 73-66 in its season opener against Columbia before having over a week off from game play.

Akwasi Yeboah, who finished with 11 points and seven boards, scored Stony Brook's first five points of the game. The Seawolves remained in control for much of the first half, but trailed by two at the break. Columbia extended its lead in the second half, but a 10-2 run got Stony Brook back in it. Three straight buckets from the Seawolves tied the game at 65 with 2:22 left to play. A desperation three from Columbia's Mike Smith with 16 seconds remaining proved to be the difference-maker.
AGAINST THE ACC
The Seawolves have never topped an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference in seven attempts. They are 0-4 alltime against Boston College and last faced an ACC opponent a season ago, falling at Notre Dame.

Geno Ford is a strong one. Ford was a member of Christian's staff during his days as the head coach at Kent State. Ford spent four seasons working under Christian before replacing his as head coach in 2008. Prior to taking the Boston College job, Christian spent two seasons as the head coach at Ohio University, where Ford and Stony Brook head coach
Jeff Boals were teammates in the mid 90's.
