Final Stats
Boca Raton, Fla. - Senior Allie Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) went 3-for-5 with five rbi to lead the Stony Brook softball team (4-6) over the Maryland Terrapins (5-10) on the final day of the Florida Atlantic Tournament, 10-4.
Bryant's Reaction
"This was a well-played team win for us," said head coach Megan Bryant. "It was our best game of the year executing on offense. Maddy and Jane combined to give us a solid effort in the circle and our defense came up with some big plays. It's a great way to end the weekend and move forward as we progress as a team."
Turning Point
Stony Brook jumped out to a 4-1 lead before the Terrapins rallied to pull within one, 4-3. The Seawolves used a four-run fifth inning to pull away. Sophomore Caroline Seeberg (Warwick, N.Y.) opened the frame with a walk and scored after sophomore Ileana Torres's (Debary, Fla.) ground ball was thrown away. Sophomore Chelsea Evans (Merced, Calif.) joined Torres on base with a single before Pisciotta cleared the bases with a three-run homer, her second of the season.
