STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Stony Brook baseball team claimed its second win in as many days with an 8-3 victory over visiting Villanova on Saturday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field.
Junior C David Real (Chandler, Ariz.) and freshman DH Dylan Resk (Ardsley, N.Y.) each collected a pair of hits for the Seawolves (5-7). Resk drove in a pair of runs as well with a double to left centerfield in the fifth inning. Freshman LF Joe Baran (West Hazelton, Pa.) also had two RBI and scored twice.
Senior RHP Chad Lee (San Dimas, Calif.) picked up the win in relief. He tossed 3.0 innings of work and allowed five hits. Sophomore RHP Teddy Rodliff (Quincy, Mass.) earned the save with after throwing 1.2 innings of no-hit baseball.
Turning Point
After Villanova had tied the score 3-3 with a pair of runs in the fourth inning, the Seawolves battled back and posted three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. Sophomore 3B Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) started things off with a bunt single and came around to score when on Joe Baran’s single into left field. Dylan Resk then blasted a double into the left centerfield gap the scored Baran and David Real.

"We are trying to come out and play consistently everyday. To come off yesterday’s win and come back today and play well and play at a high level is important to what it is that we need to do starting next week in conference play and moving forward.”
Notes
- Sophomore SSBobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) reached on a bunt single in the fifth innings and extended his career-long hitting streak to 12 games (Each game of the season). He has also now reached base safely in 22 straight games, including the final 10 games of the 2015 season.
- Junior CFToby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) reached on a base on balls in the first inning and has now reached base safely in 14 straight games (All nine this season and the final two of the 2015 season).
- Sophomore RHP Teddy Rodliff (Quincy, Mass.) picked up his first save of the season an the fifth of his career in Saturday’s win.
