BRONX, N.Y. – A six-run fourth inning by Fordham did in the Stony Brook baseball team on Sunday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to the Rams at Joe Coffey Field.
Three Seawolves did record multi-hit games led by junior CF Toby Handley’s (Whitby, Ontario) 3-for-4 afternoon. Sophomore 1B Andruw Gazzola (Coram, N.Y.) and freshman DH Dylan Resk (Ardsley, N.Y.) each went 2-for-4.
Sophomore RHP Aaron Pinto (West Covina, Calif.) pitched well in relief. He tossed 4.2 scoreless innings and allowed just three hits and struck out eight.
Turning Point
Entering the fourth inning with a 1-0 lead, the Seawolves gave up six runs to Fordham on six hits. The Rams used a home run and a pair of doubles to do most of the damage in the inning.
Notes
- Junior CFToby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) collected three hits on Sunday and has now reached base safely in 15 straight games (All nine this season and the final two of the 2015 season).
- Sophomore SSBobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) failed to reach base on Sunday, ending his career-long 12-game hitting streak. His streak of reaching base safely also came to an end at 22 games.
