Queens, N.Y. - The Stony Brook softball team (5-12) opened up a busy week with a 6-1 loss at St. John's on Wednesday.
Turning Point
The Seawolves were held to just three hits as the Red Storm scored two runs in the third and fourth innings and a run in the fifth and sixth innings to build a 6-0 lead. Stony Brook's lone run of the game came in the top of the seventh inning on an rbi groundout by sophomore Ileana Torres (Debary, Fla.).

- Seniors Allie Pisciotta (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) and Melissa Phelan (Saddle Brook, N.J.) and freshman Danielle Kemp (Milford, Conn.) recorded the Stony Brook hits.
- Torres's rbi ground out was her third run batted in of the season.
- Senior Jane Sallen (Lake Worth, Fla.) fell to 4-8 in the circle, throwing 3.1 innings and allowing four earned runs on six hits.
- Senior Alex Petrolia (Henderson, Nev.) relieved Sallen and worked the final 2.2 innings, yielding two runs, one earned, on four hits.
