ELON, N.C. – Despite a four-hit performance from junior CF Toby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) and 11 hits as a squad, the Stony Brook baseball team fell 5-4 to Bowling Green in the final game of the Elon Tournament at Latham Park.
Handley led the Seawolves (3-7) with a season-high four hits, including a pair of doubles. He also scored twice and drove in a run. Sophomore SS Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and sophomore 1B Andruw Gazzola (Coram, N.Y.) each added a pair of hits for Stony Brook.
Senior RHP Chad Lee (San Dimas, Calif.), less than 24 hours after he earned his first career save, pitched 5.0 innings in relief and allowed one run on two hits and had five strikeouts. Sophomore LFP Teddy Rodliff (Quincy, Mass.) tossed the final 2.0 innings without allowing a run and struck out two.
Turning Point
Bowling Green plated four runs in the top of the second inning that gave the Falcons the lead for good, despite Stony Brook chipping away. BGSU used five hits, including a two-run single by Kory Brown, to get the advantage.

"Anytime you leave ten runners on base, hit into 19 ground ball outs - including three double plays - you are going to end up with today's result.”
Notes
- Sophomore SSBobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) singled twice and extended his career-long hitting streak to 10 games (Each game of the season). He has also now reached base safely in 20 straight games, including the final 10 games of the 2015 season.
- Junior CFToby Handley (Whitby, Ontario) had four hits and has now reached base safely in 12 straight games (All nine this season and the final two of the 2015 season).
- Handley recorded his first four-hit game of the season on Sunday. He had a pair of doubles, drove in one and scored twice. This was his second four-hit game of his career.
