Stony Brook outhits Bryant in loss

SMITHFIELD, R.I. &ndash; Another home run by freshman DH Dylan Resk (Ardsley, N.Y.) and the second straight game where the Stony Brook baseball team outhit their opponent, but Bryant was able to come away with an 8-4 victory in the second game of the series on Saturday afternoon at Conaty Park. &nbsp;

Resk&rsquo;s home run, a solo shot in the eighth inning, was one of the Seawolves (17-17) five extra base hits. Desk also doubled along with sophomore Andruw Gazzola (Coram, N.Y.), junior SS Jeramy Giles (Claremont, Calif.) and freshman C Sean Buckhout (West Knnack, N.Y.). &nbsp;

Freshman RHP Bret Clarke (Royerford, Pa.) tossed his longest outing of his career on Saturday. He went 6.0 innings, allowed four hits and three unearned runs.&nbsp;

Turning Point
With Stony Brook leading 2-1 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, Bryant&rsquo;s first two batters reached on a walk and fielding error. Each came around to score when pinch hitter Brandon Bingel slapped a double to left center field. Two runs scored and the Bulldogs took the lead for good.

Notes
- Senior 2B Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) had one hit on the afternoon to bring his career total to 237 that remains in fourth-place on Stony Brook&rsquo;s career hits list. He is seven hits away from third place.
- Freshman DH Dylan Resk (Ardsley, N.Y.) blasted his second collegiate home run over the LC wall to lead off the eighth inning.&nbsp;
