FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Eight players collected at least one hit, including sophomore LF Andruw Gazzola (Coram, N.Y.) 4-for-4 afternoon, but the Stony Brook baseball team fell at Fairfield 14-9 on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Diamond.
The Seawolves (17-19) totaled 14 hits and, in addition to Gazzola, received multi-hit games from senior 1B Johnny Caputo (Toronto, Onatrio), junior RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and junior SS Jeremy Giles (Claremont, Calif.) who each had a pair of hits. Caputo also blasted his fourth home run of the season.
Turning Point
In a game that saw three lead changes, Fairfield struck last with seven runs in the sixth inning to overtake four-run Stony Brook lead.
