STONY BROOK, N.Y. – It was a big day for senior RHP Chad Lee (San Dimas, Calif.) and the rest of the Stony Brook baseball senior class. Lee, who graduated earlier in the day, earned his sixth win on the mound to lead the Seawolves to a 7-2 series-opening win over visiting UAlbany on Friday afternoon at Joe Nathan Field.
The Seawolves’ (23-24, 12-8 AE) were led by Lee and sophomore LHP Kevin Kernan (Mahopac, N.Y.) on the mound and junior RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) at the plate. Lee tossed 5.0 innings and allowed two hits and struck out eight Great Danes (20-27, 8-13 AE) to get the win. Kernan threw 4.0 innings and allowed just two runs on five hits to pick up the save.
Baker had three hits, scored a run and drove in one. Six other Seawolves recorded a hit, including doubles from junior C David Real (Chandler, Ariz.), sophomore 3B Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) and freshman DH Dylan Resk (Ardsley, N.Y.).

Turning Point
The Seawolves rattled off three straight two-out hits in the bottom of the seventh inning that led to three runs and broke the game open. Senior 2B Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) got it started with a single up the middle, Real then doubled down the leftfield line and Baker followed with a single to CF. The three runs gave Stony Brook 7-1 lead at the time.

- Senior RHP Chad Lee (San Dimas, Calif.) picked up his sixth win of the season and his 12th of his career.
- Sophomore LHP Kevin Kernan (Mahopac, N.Y.) earned his first save of the season and second of his career.
- Senior 2B Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) had one hit on Friday and now has 246 career base hits and is now nine hits away from tying the school record for hits.
- Junior RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) collected three hits on Friday has now reached base safely in 18 straight games.
- Sophomore 3B Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.) singled on Friday and has now reached base safely in 11 straight games.

Stony Brook’s senior class of Johnny Caputo(Toronto, Ontario), Tyler Honahan (Parker, Colo.), Tim Knesnik (Milford, Pa.),Chad Lee (San Dimas, Calif.) and Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) will be honored with a brief ceremony prior to the first game.
