LOWELL, Ma. - The magical run of comebacks and walk-off wins for the No. 3 seed Stony Brook baseball team in the America East Conference Tournament came to an end on Saturday in the championship round when the Seawolves' season ended with a 6-3 loss to top-seeded Binghamton at LeLacheur Park.
After staving off elimination twice on Friday, including a come-from-behind 3-2 victory over No. 2 Hartford, the Seawolves' were unable to continue the magic on Saturday. The Bearcats (30-23) earned the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Senior RHP Chad Lee (San Dimas, Calif.) took the mound after just two days rest and tossed 4.0 innings, He allowed one run on four hits.
Junior C David Real (Chandler, Ariz.) scored Stony Brook's first run after leading off the second inning with a triple. He crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by sophomore 3B Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.). Senior 2B Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) and junior RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) had RBI hits in the eighth inning.
Lee and Honeyman earned spots on the All-Tournament team and was joined by teammate sophomore LHP Kevin Kernan (Mahopac, N.Y.).

With the score tied at 1-1, Binghamton pushed across four runs in the top half of the fifth inning thanks to five hits including a pair of doubles.
Notes
- Junior RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) doubled in the eighth inning on Saturday to reach base safely in 25 straight games. The double also extended his hit streak to 10 straight games.
- Senior 2B Jack Parenty (Wantagh, N.Y.) finished his career with a total 252 hits, the third most in Stony Brook history. He also played 208 games, the seventh most in school history and had 793 career at bats, the third most in Seawolves' history.
- Senior RHP Chad Lee (San Dimas, Calif.) made his 56th appearance on the mound on Saturday. He finished his career ranked tied for ninth in Stony Brook history.
