VESTAL, N.Y. – A seven-run fifth inning doomed the Stony Brook baseball team on Sunday afternoon in a 7-3 America East Conference loss to Binghamton in the series finale at The Bearcat Sports Complex.
The Bearcats (23-20, 15-4 AE) managed seven hits in the game, while the Seawolves (20-23, 9-7 AE) had three, two by sophomore 3B Bobby Honeyman (Massapequa, N.Y.).
Turning Point
After the Seawolves staked a 3-0 lead with runs in the second and fourth innings, Binghamton scored seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Notes
- Senior LHP Tyler Honahan (Parker, Colo.) made his 59th appearance on the mound Sunday. His 59 appearances are tied for 6th most in Stony Brook history.
- Junior RF Casey Baker (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) singled in the second inning and has now reached base safely in 14 straight games.
