Chestnut Hill, Mass. -Â The Stony Brook women's soccer team (0-2-1) couldn't recover from two early Boston College (2-0-1) goals on Thursday night, falling to the Eagles 3-0.
Faherty's Quote
"Unfortunately, we didn't get off to the start we were hoping for, but credit to Boston College for some dynamic play down the flanks in the opening 20 minutes," said head coach Brendan Faherty. "I thought we settled in after the poor start and competed well on both sides of the ball. Tonight was a new challenge for our program and I think there are a lot of positives we can take away from this match."Â
Highlights
- Boston College's McKenzie Meehan gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, finishing a cross from Jenna Bike.
- Meehan added a second goal in the 16th minute when she split two Stony Brook defenders and fired from 18 yards out.
