Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Stony Brook women's soccer team (0-2-1) couldn't recover from two early Boston College (2-0-1) goals on Thursday night, falling to the Eagles 3-0.

"Unfortunately, we didn't get off to the start we were hoping for, but credit to Boston College for some dynamic play down the flanks in the opening 20 minutes," said head coach Brendan Faherty. "I thought we settled in after the poor start and competed well on both sides of the ball. Tonight was a new challenge for our program and I think there are a lot of positives we can take away from this match." 

Highlights

• Boston College's McKenzie Meehan gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, finishing a cross from Jenna Bike.
• Meehan added a second goal in the 16th minute when she split two Stony Brook defenders and fired from 18 yards out.
• The Seawolves held the Eagles scoreless over the next 57 minutes until freshman Olivia Vaughn put the game on ice with a goal from 21 yards out.

• The Seawolves put four of their seven shots on target.
• Senior Raven Edwards (West Orange, N.J.) led Stony Brook with two shots and a shot on goal.
• Juniors Sam Goodwin (Westbury, N.Y.) and Sydney Vaughn (Ballwin, Mo.), and sophomore Julie Johnstonbaugh (Neshanic Station, N.J.) also recorded a shot on goal.
• Junior Shannon Robinson (Stony Point, N.Y.) made a career-high nine saves in the loss. 
• Boston College finished with a 25-7 advantage in shots and a 12-4 edge in shots on goal.
