Kingston, R.I. - The Stony Brook volleyball team was outlasted by San Diego State in a five-set match (19-25, 25-18, 25-21, 19-25, 7-15) Saturday afternoon at Keaney Gymnasium to conclude the Art Carmichael Invitational. With the defeat, the Seawolves fall to 2-9, while the Aztecs improve to 5-5.

Pulver (Temecula, Calif.) posted a career-high 15 kills to lead the Seawolves.
- Sophomore McKyla Brooks (Blasdell, N.Y.) chipped in 11 kills, while freshmen
Jordan Gels (Lewis Center, Ohio) and Maria Poole (Stavanger, Norway) each added nine.
- Poole's nine kills came on 17 attempts with zero attack errors (.529).
- Freshman Kardasia Hitchcock (Alexander City, Ala.) led the team with a career-high 14 digs.
- The Seawolves hit .314 in the match, which was Stony Brook's second-best output of 2016.
- Stony Brook had a .522 hitting percentage in the first two sets of the match, recording just two attack errors during that stretch.
