WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Sophomore
Davion Wingate (Atlanta, Ga.) tallied 23 points – including 14 in the second half – but the Stony Brook women's basketball team was downed by Hartford, 65-52, Thursday night at Chase Arena. In the defeat, the Seawolves fall to 9-9 and 2-3 in the America East, while the Hawks improve to 13-5 and 4-1 in conference play.
Turning Point
The Seawolves led by six twice in the third quarter, including a 35-29 advantage after a layup by senior
Christa Scognamiglio (Orangeburg, N.Y.) with 6:18 to go in the frame. Hartford would respond with an 18-3 run to close out the quarter that gave the Hawks a 47-38 lead after three.

- Wingate was 10-of-19 from the floor in the contest and played 33 minutes despite being hampered by foul trouble.

Elizabeth Manner (Vienna, Va.) tallied nine rebounds in the contest, while Scognamiglio added seven rebounds and three assists to a six-point outing.
