Scouting the Wildcats
New Hampshire has won 12 in a row dating back to Dec. 18. The closest margin of victory came against Stony Brook Jan. 4, when the Wildcats overcame an 18-point deficit to beat the Seawolves 49-46 in Durham.
UNH has four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by Carlie Pogue at 15.0 points per game. The Wildcats have been boosted by midyear transfer Olivia Healy, who is averaging 11.1 points and 6.4 rebounds in seven games.
All-Time vs. New Hampshire
New Hampshire holds a 21-15 advantage in the Division I series following the victory in Durham Jan. 4, which was the second consecutive 49-46 decision in favor of UNH. Stony Brook has won the meeting on Long Island in three of the last four seasons.
Seawolves Held off by Catamounts
Senior Elizabeth Manner had 14 points, but Vermont closed the game on a 10-1 run to defeat Stony Brook 53-43 Saturday in Burlington.
KBW Breaks Assist Record; Eyes 1,000 Points
Senior Kori Bayne-Walker tallied six assists in the Jan. 16 win over UMass Lowell to break the all-time program record. Her fourth assist of the day - a second-quarter dish to Elizabeth Manner - passed Mykeema Ford with the 418th of her career. Bayne-Walker enters Wednesday with 435 career assists.
???????
Bayne-Walker is also the Seawolves' active scoring leader with 922 points.
Sneaky Scogs
Senior Christa Scognamiglio tallied a career-high seven steals in the Jan. 16 win over UMass Lowell - the highest total by an America East player this season.
Start Me Up
Sophomore Davion Wingate is averaging 13.1 points per game in 14 contests since joining the starting lineup for the Dec. 11 win at Central Connecticut.
Wingate has been in double figures in six of those games, which includes 20-point performances at the Florida Sunshine Classic against Florida A&M and Indiana and again Jan. 19 at Hartford.
Wingate is the Seawolves' leading scorer at 11.2 points per game on the year.
Three Stats on Christa's Threes
Senior Christa Scognamiglio passed Kelly Watson (2003-07) Jan. 7 for third in program history with 124 made three-pointers.
Scognamiglio's six threes at Central Connecticut (Dec. 11) were tied for the fourth-most in a single-game in program history, and the most since Mykeema Ford hit a program-record seven three-pointers at Boston University, Jan. 28, 2004.
Scognamiglio's 131 three-pointers rank third behind Ford, who hit 181 from 2003-07 and Donna Fennessy, who made 170 from 1994-98.
1, 2, 3, 4... Pressure
Stony Brook is 5-2 this year in games decided by five points or less. The Seawolves have three wins decided by two points or less.
