Stony Brook, N.Y. – Stony Brook men's soccer played to a 1-1 tie vs. Hartford on Sunday evening at LaValle Stadium in conference action. With the draw, the Seawolves move to 6-4-4 (0-2-2 AEC) so far in 2017.
Robin Bjornholm-Jatta (Trondheim, Norway) scored the Seawolves' goal in the tie.
Quoting Head Coach Ryan Anatol
"Our guys played with real determination and desire and for much of the afternoon we were on the front foot. Throughout the game we created some very good chances and defended well. I thought we earned the lead at the break and ultimately deserved a better result but in the end we didn't finish enough of our opportunities."
- On Bjornholm-Jatta's Goal: "I am happy that Robin was able to score a good goal tonight. He has had a few opportunities in previous games that he wasn't able to convert but he has stayed positive and continued to work hard."

- Bjornholm-Jatta gave the Seawolves an early lead at 35:38, heading in a pass from Eric McKenna (Great River, N.Y.) to make it 1-0. Serge Gamwanya (Trondheim, Norway) collected the ball at the top of the box, then lobbed a pass in McKenna's direction. The graduate defender headed the ball across the field toward Bjornholm-Jatta, who headed it home for his third goal of the year.
- Hartford scored at 69:44, as Karlsson Rasmus poked a goal in to tie the game.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Jacob Braham (Cortlandt, N.Y.) made eight total saves in the win. He now owns a 1.10 goals-against average this year over eight games played.
- The Seawolves held the advantage in shots (21-17) over Hartford, and attempted eight corner kicks in the tie. Lars Togstad (Trondheim, Norway) and Danny Espinoza (East Meadow, N.Y.) both recorded four shots in the tie.
