LOWELL, Mass. -- The Stony Brook volleyball team bounced back on the road Saturday night, as it claimed a 3-0 win at UMass Lowell. This is the second sweep for the Seawolves on conference play, as they move to 12-7 on the season, 3-1 in the America East. The River Hawks fall to 5-12 overall, 0-4 in league play.

"It was great to bounce back tonight," said head coach
Kristin Belzung. "While it wasn't the prettiest match in terms of our execution, I thought our effort was good and we were able to keep Lowell's pin hitters under control. We have another short turnaround, but we are excited to be home on Tuesday night against Iona."

- The Seawolves took a 7-3 lead early in the first set, but UMass Lowell responded and eventually went up 8-7 to force a Stony Brook timeout. The Seawolves regained the lead and scored three straight points for force the River Hawks to call a timeout. Back-to-back kills from senior

- UMass Lowell controlled the pace to start the second set before the two teams went back-and-forth for much of the set. The River Hawks called a timeout as they trailed 20-16, but Stony Brook continued to dominate, putting up five straight points to earn a 25-16 win in the second.
- The third set was tight throughout, seeing nine ties and five lead changes. With the Seawolves up 18-13, UMass Lowell responded with three straight points to make it 18-16 and force a Stony Brook timeout. The Seawolves were able to pull away late and seal the sweep with a 25-22 win.
