STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook women's basketball continued its undefeated start to the 2017-18 season on Sunday afternoon at Island Federal Credit Union Arena, topping Wagner, 69-50, in non-conference action.
With the win, the Seawolves improve to 5-0 to begin season. The last time the program won five-straight contests to begin a season was in 1992-93.
Quoting Head Coach Caroline McCombs
"I thought Wagner played extremely hard tonight. They are very well coached, and forced us to be uncomfortable at times. Despite the slow start, I though we battled back and competed. We had a few different players step up tonight to help us get another win and keep the momentum going. As we continue to grow, I think our versatility will continue to be a strength."
